James Larry Morris, Jr., 84, passed away on February 8, 2023.
He was born February 25, 1938 in Indiana to the late James Larry Morris, Sr. and Gladys Jackson Morris. After serving his country in the US Army, he graduated from the University of Alabama in Business Administration. He began his business career working for the Ford Motor Credit Corporation, but returned home to Jasper to work at the family business after his father passed away, serving his community and northwest Alabama at the helm of Morris Monuments. Larry was a loving and devoted father, a wonderful role model, and a staunch Conservative.
He is survived by his children: Chris Morris (Kelli), Katherine Miree (Dick), and Jim Morris (Allison); his grandchildren: Hannah Morris and Gillian Morris; his sister: Kaki Jones; his wife: Margaret Morris, as well as nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews. Many thanks to Hospice of Alabama for their speedy care during his brief illness.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Walker County Humane Society, as all of his dogs brought him great joy. A private ceremony will be had by family.
