James Lamar Upton, 80 of Guntersville passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at Barfield Health Care. Lamar was born December 17, 1940 in Rome, Georgia the son of Wilford P. Upton and Willie Ruth Battles Upton. He was a retired contractor, avid outdoors man and enjoyed collecting all types of guns.
He is survived by his Daughter: Kim Motley of Albertville; Grandchildren: Mark Upton (Laura), Hannah Walker (John) and Jay Motley (Jessica); Six Great Grandchildren; Brother: Jimmy Upton of Albertville; He was preceded in death by Son: Marty Upton; Parents: Wilford and Willie Ruth Upton; Brother & Sister-in-law: Howard and Betty Upton.
The family chose to honor his wishes by cremation with no formal memorial service held at the present time. Gober Funeral Chapel assisted the Upton family with cremation arrangements.
