Funeral service for James Lamar Millwood, age 88, of Decatur, will be Saturday, April 23, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dallas Culver officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Millwood, who died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born April 19, 1928, in Lawrence County, to James Noey Millwood and Dessie Reed Millwood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye (King) Millwood. Mr. Millwood was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and a lifetime member of Austinville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, Ricky Millwood (Karen) of Decatur; two daughters, Susan Buckelew (Rick) of Madison, and Connie Spradley (Mike) of Huntsville; one brother, Russell Millwood of Decatur; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rick Buckelew, Mike Spradley, John Millwood, Ronnie Terry, Wally Sanders, and Greg Hughes.
