James L Smith, 87, of Guntersville, Alabama, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at Shepherds Cove Hospice. Mr. Smith was a member of Creek Path Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.
Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Mike Smith (Melissa); daughters, Teresa Fuell, Barbara Smith and Lisa Carole Smith; sister, Evelyn Scott (Etheridge); grandchildren, Ben Smith (Kristina), Kayla Owens (Daniel), Lacey Morgan (Arleigh), Amy Bowden, Brandi Mankey (Jonathan), Zac Fuell and Seth Fuell;14 Great-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Smith; parents, EH Smith and Hattie Lee Camp; son, David Smith; sister, Ann Stewart; brother, David “Bud” Smith; grandsons, Joshua Barnette and Rusty Cryar.
The graveside service will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Crestview Cemetery at 12:00 pm, with Bro Rick Douglas officiating. Pallbearers are Ben Smith, Connor Smith, Braden Owens, Ryker Owens, Louis Crowder, Daniel Owens and Jonathan Mankey. Duane Smith is honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to Shepherds Cove Hospice.
