On Tuesday, February 2, 2016, Jim DeCenzo, age 68 of Cedar Grove, Tennessee (formerly from Neville Island, PA) passed away after a long bout with cancer to unite with his parents Richard and Rosemary DeCenzo. He is survived by his brother Ricky DeCenzo, nephew Shawn, and niece Tamara of Beaver County, PA. He is also survived by his longtime companion and caregiver, Kathy Rose and her sister, Mary Lou Williams of Cedar Grove, TN, and aunts Joyce Potts and Wanda Riggel of Pittsburgh, PA. Jim graduated from Neville Island High School and was a military veteran for both the Air Force (1965) and Marines (1970). He also attended Robert Morris University where he received an associate degree as a paralegal. Jim worked as a dispatcher for Nelville Island Police Department and was self-employed as an over the road truck driver owning his own rig. He resided in central PA for many years with his beloved dog “Browning”. He joined a motorcycle club named the American Riders out of Marionville, PA, where he developed strong relationships with each and every member, whose primary purpose was to assist local law enforcement and provide assistance for anyone in need. In fact, it was this club that drove from PA to his home in TN to visit and assist Jim, Kathy, and Mary Lou with any work that needed done on their property. His best friend, Kimberly Jones, also came down with the guys to surprise Jim. She lives in Lowellville, OH. They still keep in touch today and he had a wonderful few days with them. Just prior to his passing, Jim enjoyed a visit from his cousin, Jerry Fabec of Moon Twp., PA and his daughter, Terra, and his weekend was filled with laughter and fond memories of their early years of growing up. Per Jim’s wishes, he will receive a military funeral on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 2 PM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cedar Grove, TN.
