The funeral service for James L. Horn, age 71 of Millerville, will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Bro. Larry Mitchell and Bro. Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Millerville Community Cemetery.
Mr. Horn was a native and life-long resident, born in the Mountain Community. He was a sewing machine mechanic who retired after over 30 years of service. Mr. Horn was a member of Millerville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Horn of Millerville, two daughters: Demeris Smith (Tommy) of Millerville and Larisa Harris (George), of Bluff Springs; two sisters: Wynell Ingram (Tim) of Delta, Evelyn Clark of MIllerville; one brother, Bobby Horn of MIllerville; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his parents: Criss Horn and Carrie Hallman Horn; one sister, Colleen Burdett; two nieces: Christine Mitchell and Diane Sharp; one nephew, Wayne Mitchell.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, George Harris, Bill Suggs, Darren Smith, Jared Haynes, Alvin Wade and Phillip Tranz Oliver. Tim Ingram and Mr. Horn’s grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.
