James Kyle Lindsey – Obituary

Funeral service for James Kyle Lindsey age 85 of Danville will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11:00am at Danville Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Bailey, Rev. Joe David Bailey and Rev. J. Wayne Penn officiating with burial in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the Church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Monday evening at Danville Baptist Church.

Mr. Lindsey died on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his home. He was born August 15, 1927 in Morgan County to James Truman Lindsey and Effie Ola Penn Lindsey. James loved his family and his Church. He could be seen on Danville Road mowing or enjoying the sunshine in the front yard in the swing. He retired from Wolverine Tube with 40 years of service. Many trips and friends were made raising cattle through the years. James will be waiting in his mansion in heaven for us to join him. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents and by three sisters; Mary Bretha Gann, Bonnie Chenault and Judy Mauffray and by two nephews; Greg Gann and Doug Chenault.

James planned on having Hugh Fitzgerald, Bobby Sandlin, Earl Cook, Ralph Segars, John Tanner and Kenneth Narrell as his pallbearers. They all went ahead and are waiting for him in heaven.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years; Peggy Thompson Lindsey, a son; James Rex Lindsey of Madison, two daughters; Becky Lindsey Horn (Mike) of Decatur and Rita Lindsey Griffin (Larry) of Cocoa Beach, FL., one granddaughter; Lindsey Griffin of Cocoa Beach, FL., a niece; Marsha Gann McLemore and a nephew; Donnie Mauffray.

Pallbearers will be Joe Fitzgerald, John Tanner, Jared Tanner, Gary Bell, Jerry Segars and Frankie Morris Honorary pallbearers are his Sunday School Class( Gary and Joyce Anders, Bobby and Vanda Canant, Roger and Dot Burcham, Ruth Livingston, Emogene Livingston, Mary Jewel Roberts, Mavis Fitzgerald) and Ken Tapscott, Mike Halbrooks and M.D. Prater.

Special Thanks to all his care providers and caregivers through the last few months.
