James Kenneth Purcell, age 80, of Leoma, TN passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026, at his residence. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, owner of Kenneth Purcell’s Garage, and a member of Leoma Baptist Church. Mr. Purcell enjoyed watching NASCAR, UFC, and, most of all, loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcom Lewis and Helen Louise Johnson Purcell; two brothers, Charlie and Lewis Purcell; and one sister, Patricia Wells.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda Purcell of Leoma, TN; two sons, Jeff Purcell (Barbara) and Scottie Purcell (Jennifer) both of Lawrenceburg, TN; one sister, Linda Hyde of Lawrenceburg, TN; six grandchildren, Ethan Purcell (Caitlin), Peyton Bell (Andrew), Kendal Purcell (Caroline), Logan Purcell (Davina), Brock Purcell (Lauren), and Adison Purcell; nine great-grandchildren, Odie, Aiden, Kayden, Brooklyn, Nixon, Emery, Rowan, and two on the way; several nieces; and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 17, 2026, with David Simmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Leoma Cemetery in Leoma, TN.
