James Kalam Gilliland, 78, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at his home. Born on October 12, 1945, he was a son to James Kalam Gilliland, Sr and Martha Banks Gilliland. A member of Moore’s Bridge Baptist Church, he also liked to hunting and fishing. He was good at carpentry and loved to travel and attend auctions. He worked as an electrician at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa and moved to Monroe County in 1997.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Hatley Cemetery. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home is in charge of the services. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
He is survived by one sister, Marion Latham (Levaughn) of Coker, AL; cousins and caretakers, Sam Tubb, Preston Tubb (Robbie) of Hatley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, M.C. Gilliland and Janie Parker.
