James K. Frye, age 89, of Florence, passed away Aug. 3, 2014. Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 7, from 6-9 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1828 Broadway Blvd., Florence. The body will lie in state one hour before the service. Burial, with military honors, will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Jimmy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as bishop for 11 years. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Reynolds Metals Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Galen and Tennie Frye, brother, Bill Frye, and sister, Melba Amelia Frye.
He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Roberts Frye; children, Dwight and Carolyn Frye, Wade and Nancy Frye, LeAnn and Stanley Lash, Jamiel Frye, and Mark and Mary Ann Frye; siblings, Alyce Bryant, John Clark Frye, Price Frye, and Elizabeth Ann Holder; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Troy Frye, Jacob Frye, Bradley Frye, Phillip Smith II, Aaron Frye, and John Frye. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Frye, Larry Frye II, Jeremy Frye, Hiram Frye, Nathan Frye, Lance Lash, and K. J. Frye.
