James "Jimmy" Watson Driver James “Jimmy” Watson Driver, age 73 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at St. Thomas West in Nashville. He was born in Franklin County on October 22, 1946 to the late William Thomas and Katherine (Parker) Driver. Jimmy went to college at Tennessee Tech University, where he played football. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A devoted farmer, he loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. A country music singer and guitar player, Jimmy had been a part of WSM Radio Shows, The Ralph Emery Show, and The Teddy Bart Show. He was an avid Alabama Football fan and was a baseball and softball umpire for over thirty years. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, William Franklin “Billy” Driver; and granddaughter, Carmen E. Simmons. He is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Driver of Winchester; children, James Franklin (Cassi) Driver of Tullahoma, Gregory Thomas (Daffney) Driver of Lynchburg, and Jeannie Marie Driver of Murfreesboro; sister, Martha Katherine “Kathy” (Michael) Sparks of Winchester; and grandchildren, Montana James Driver, Carolyna Michelle Driver, James Bryant Driver, Hunter Thomas Driver, Jayda Simmons, and Samara Simmons. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 12, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment will follow at Lynchburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Multi-County Cancer Support Network, 501 West Broad Street, Decherd, TN 37324.
