James “Jimmy” A. Hood Jr., left this earth to go to his Heavenly Home to be with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ on this day of October 15, 2015.
His Celebration of Life will be Sunday, October 18, 2015, 3 p.m. at Moulton Congregational Christian Church with Bro. Ronald Davis, Bro. Roger Loosier and Bro. Toney Pepper officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. His body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery with a military service. Visitation will be at Lawrence Funeral Home today, October 17, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m.
He was born March 19, 1943, to James A Hood Sr. and Ruth Hood Brice in Sebren, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Irene Crosslin; one grandson, Jackson Reed Harrison; and one brother, Edward Hood.
Mr. Hood served in the United Stated Army four years and retired from Fluor Daniels after working 35 years as a pipe welder. Mr. Hood was an active member of Moulton Congregational Christian Church and was a trustee of the church from 2002 until his death.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tammi Crosslin Hood; they had a special love and marriage; his children, Patti Hood and J.J. Hood (Bridget); two granddaughters, Shaina Deal and Cyndel Robinson; sisters, Linda Aabott, Patricia Quinn and Susie Rose; brothers, James Gaulke, Wendell Hood, Jimmy Hood and Frankie Gilliland; special nephew, Robert Shumate; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Keith Ligon, Lovis Goat Steadman, Eric Hines, Frankie Gilliland, Anthony Robinson, and Mike Rose.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert B. Hall, Dr. Charles Coffee, Bill Curnutt, Danny Mitchell, Robert Shumate Wylie Boyd, and Ashton Boyd.
