James “Jim” Trulove

James “Jim” Trulove, 88, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 29, 1935 to the late Cebie Burt Trulove and the late Cordelia Sheffield Trulove. Jim moved to Winthrop Harbor, IL at 17 to pursue a career with A&P Grocery. He left as a manager, before returning to Tupelo, MS with his family. He opened Trulove Super Shop which he ran with his wife until they retired. He was a man who valued integrity and hard work. He was also known for doing anything for others who were in need. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday April 24, 2024, at Senter Funeral Directors with visitation beginning at 1:00 all in the Senter Funeral Directors chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Temple Hughes Trulove of Tupelo; brother, Merlin Dee Trulove; daughter, Wanda Trulove; grandson, Keith (Lacey) Trulove; granddaughters: Miranda Trulove and Bryanna Trulove; 4 great-grandchildren and niece, Virginia Ann Johnson (Veron) and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, sons: Larry and Dewayne “Wade” Trulove; sisters: Ruth Kent, Dewdrop Elrod, Joyce Gonsman, Dyann Cheney, Carneader Borsnik; brothers: Verlon Trulove and G.B. Trulove; great granddaughter, Memory Williams
