James “Jim” Rohling, age 84, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at his residence. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, retired from Murray Ohio with 43 years of service, and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg. Mr. Rohling served his country in the TN Army National Guard. After retirement he continued to use his strong work ethic, many skills, and his religious faith to volunteer countless hours at Sacred Heart Church and School, God’s Storehouse, Meals on Wheels, and to help anyone else that God put in his path. He attended every ballgame and event that his family participated in. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Rohling, Sr. and Mary Kerstiens Rohling; one brother, Joseph Rohling; and one daughter, Mona Rohling.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol Rohling of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Cindy Dugger (Mike) of Mt. Pleasant, TN; two sons, Tim Rohling (Tina) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Keith Rohling (Lisa) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one sister, Jane Lamprecht Hildebrandt of Lawrenceburg, TN; three brothers, Royce Rohling (Nancy) of Chattanooga, TN, Hubert Rohling (Ann) of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Gary Rohling (Lane) of Lawrenceburg, TN; family friend, Bryan Fleming of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren, Katie Beasley (Scott), Seth Rohling (Lindsey), Emma Brown (Wes), Caleb Dugger (Morgan), Nick Rohling (Samantha), Ryan Rohling, and Jess Wright (Rance); eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM Friday, December 17, 2021, at Neal Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral mass will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Lawrenceburg at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 18, 2021, with Father Andrew Forsythe officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Sacred Heart Catholic School of Lawrenceburg.
