Obituary of James Howard Franklin James “Jim” H. Franklin, age 77, of Rainbow City, Alabama went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 3, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2024, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. The family will accept friends from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service.

Jim was born and raised in Rainbow City all of his life. He was a gentle soul and loved by all who knew him. Jim was a graduate of Etowah High School class of 1965. He was a deacon of his church for many years. Jim also retired from Benjamin Moore and Company with 30 years of service and perfect attendance. He was a big fan of Auburn football and the Atlanta Braves. The thing that he was most proud of was his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Luna Oma Harrelson Franklin; father; Howard Monroe Franklin; and brother, Malcolm Franklin

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Renee Rowe Franklin; his daughters, Becky (Tom) Vickery, Joy Franklin; granddaughters, Alyssa Hudson, and Lily Vickery; brother-in-love, Chris (Deborah) Rowe; Niece, Pamela (Mike) Dawson; chosen sons, Brian and Jamie Hudson, and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Tom Vickery, Brian Hudson, Jamie Hudson, Cody Franklin, Caleb, Tedrow, and Joe Linder

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Rowe, Wayne, Walden, Vernon, Lee, Johnny Reed, and Mike Dawson.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of Riverview Regional Medical Center for the care we received through this most difficult time. We would also like to thank the staff of Nolan at RMC for their care.
