James “Jim” H. Cobb, of Muscle Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the age of 75. His visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Larry Kilpatrick officiating. Jim will be buried in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Jim was a native of Tuscumbia and a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force as a Flight Engineer Instructor for the C-130 Aircraft. Jim was a member of the Cox Boulevard Church of Christ and enjoyed wood working.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Cobb; and sisters, Pat Lamon and Brenda Barrett.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty C. Cobb; son, Tim Cobb (Denise) of Muscle Shoals; daughter, Donna Lawhead (David) of Muscle Shoals; brother, Steve Cobb of Oregon; sister, Cathy Holt of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Devan Cobb, and Chase and Caroline Lawhead; one niece, Cindy Smith; and one nephew, Eddie Lamon.
The American Legion will serve as pallbearers.
