James “Jim” Douglas Sauer, 62, of Decatur, Alabama passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Jim was born in Vestal, NY on June 24, 1962. He attended Grissom High School and graduated High School in Maryland where he temporarily located with his parents.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Amie Marie “Mary” Sauer; his brother, Ron Sauer, his infant sister; Cherie; and his beloved childhood dog, Mack.
He is survived by his loving siblings, Rick Sauer (Mary), John Sauer (Cari), Don Sauer (Vickie), Cheryl Garber (Harry), and Carol Morrison (Jerry). He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, Scott (Jessica), Cici, Nikki (Wesley), Layla, Joey, and Amie (Mason), Matt, Niki, Rusty (Christine), Lauren (Joel), and Andrew; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Maple Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Sheila, Jessie, and all their staff for their faithful caregiving.
