James “Jim” Allan Brown, 60, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. Jim graduated from J.O. Johnson High School in 1982. Upon graduation, Jim went on to attend the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1987. Jim spent his Career in the Accounting field and has been with Nucor Steel since 2010 in various financial and management roles, most recently as the Controller of Nucor Steel of Decatur since 2020. He was an active Member of The Episcopal Church of the Nativity where he joyously sang in the choir. He also served on the Vestry, Finance Committee, and The Board of Friends of Music.

Jim was a cherished father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather who loved his family unconditionally. Jim was an incredible coworker, teammate, neighbor, and friend. He enjoyed traveling, playing his baby grand piano, spending time with countless friends, attending Broadway Theatre shows, spoiling his grandchildren, and hosting family events at his home. He was known for his kindness and welcoming nature, making an impression on everyone he met.

He is survived by his parents, Carolyn J. Brown and David N. Brown; brother, Mark N. Brown (Andrea); sister, Sharon L. Brown; daughter, Mary Margaret Lankford (Boyd); son, Cameron Brown (Sami Crase); grandchildren, Mary Harmon Lankford, William Bryant Lankford, Henry Coleman Lankford and Judson Thomas Lankford; nephews, Taylor Muir (Emily), Lawson Muir (Briana Irwin), and Conner Simmons.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at The Episcopal Church of the Nativity with the memorial service following at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Nativity, Music Program, 208 Eustis Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35801.
