James (Jay) Larry McBride Jr., age 48 of Pinson, passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2023.
Jay was born on April 23, 1975 in Jackson, the son of James Larry McBride, Sr. and Pamela Dale Stephenson McBride. He made a life for himself in Pinson. He always enjoyed riding dirt bikes and atvs. He spent as much time outside as possible. He loved his family dearly and being there for anyone he could. Jay married his wife, Beth McBride, in 2014 and his love and family grew. Jay’s favorite thing was to spend any free time at the river and right by his side was his best friend, Paydro, who went everywhere he did.
Jay was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Juanita McBride, Laney annd Juanita Stephenson, and a grandson, Noah Taylor.
Jay is survived by his wife, Beth Weaver McBride; his parents, James Larry McBride, Sr. and Pamela Dale Stephenson McBride and mother-in-law Clara Weaver; His brother, Joseph McBride (Christy); His kids, Kelcey McBride (Duran), Korbin McBride (Samantha), Felicia Taylor (Randy), Charles Austin (Cassie); his grandchildren, Mason, Braxten, Brantley, Bentley, Rylan, Eleanor “Ellie”, Boddie, and Waylon; his niece, Savannah (Dustin) and nephew Joseph ‘Bubba’ (Victoria). Great niece, Laney. His best companion, Paydro (dog).
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 11 a.m. – 1p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Mike Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Wells Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers to serve will be Tim Heidelberg, TJ Heidelberg, Ben Stephenson, Chris Stephenson, Lane Todd, Cade McNeal, Alan Todd, Michael James, and J.P. Nichols.
