Howard was a faithful member of the Cloverdale Church of Christ. He worked at Reynolds Can Plant in Sheffield from 1964 – 1992 and was a carpenter by trade and loved to build houses. Mr. Arvil Holt helped him and together they built many houses and apartments. He had two special friends whom he liked to spend time with, Scott Lack of Rhodesville and Ferrel Allen of Center Star, and others too. He loved mowing his yard on his John Deer tractor and also liked to have a garden and made sure he planted enough purple hull peas to give to friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Ferrel Allen, Mike Lack, William Thomas, Danny Blevins, Larry Garrett, and Josh Gandy.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Mann for taking care of Howard for many years. Also, a big thank you to all the people at Gentiva Hospice for their help and the love shown to us in Howard’s last days. A special thank you to our church family at Cloverdale Church of Christ for all they did for us while he was sick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cemetery Fund or to the Teachers Fund at Cloverdale Church of Christ, 13000 Hwy. 157, Florence, Ala., 35633.
