James Henry Capps; LTC, USA RT passed away 10/01/2019 at 12:10PM.
Family and friends will always; “Hold Dear His Heart”.
He is survived by his wife; Barbara Capps, Daughter; Mary Kennedy, Son; James P. Capps. His brothers and their wives; Melvin
and Wanda Capps, Larry and Brenda Capps, Edward and Susan Capps.
Time Of Service: Tuesday, October 08,2019 at 5:00PM.
Time Of Visitation: 4:00PM to 5:00PM.

LTC Capps began his career with entering the NGC Army ROTC Officer’s Program.
He achieved many Degrees In Higher Education.
06/05/1966 North Georgia College BOS Degree (Physics).
09/24/1971 U.S. Naval Postgraduate School MOS in Operations
Research.
12/10/1982 Defense Systems Management College and NCMA;
Business Management Module Of Program Managers Course.
09/1988 Florida Institute Of Technology; MOB Administration;
Field Artillery Officers Basic Course, Airborne and Ranger Schools.
1st assignment with the 101st Airborne Division, Kentucky. Transferred to 1st Brigade 101st ABN
DIV Vietnam; Two Tours, second one after Wiesbaden, Germany
Assignment; 9th Spt. Ctr, and Commander; 563d Ordnance Co. 3d
Ordnance Battalion 59 Ordnance Brigade.
LTC Capps was a Certified Agent Orange Disabled Veteran; who
gave his health for Other’s Freedom. He achieved 17 years, 11
months, and 26 Days of Outstanding Military Service before his
Honorable; Medical Discharge June 01,1984. In his Military Career,
James H. Capps received Accommodations for his Outstanding
Service To His Country:
09/25/1969 – The Army Commendation Medal Meritorious Ser- vices; 10/18/1968 to 01/08/1969.
05/18/1976 – The Army Commendation Medal Is Oak Leaf Cluster
Meritorious Services; 3/1973 to 7/1976.
06/06/1978 – The Army Commendation Medal 2nd Oak Leaf
Cluster Meritorious Services; Assistant Professor Of Military Science; UCLA Army ROTC Program; Outstanding Leadership; established a High Success ROTC Extension Program. 07/01/1976 to
06/30/1978.
05/26/1982 – The Meritorious Service Medal, U.S. Army Europe,
9th Logistic Center, 21st Support Command, As Commander
563d Ordnance Co. 3d Ordnance Battalion – 59 Ordnance Brigade;
Outstanding Leadership accomplished Mission and Training. Support 06/1979 to 06/1982.
04/26/1984 – The Meritorious Service Medal, Ist Oak Leaf Cluster,
Ordnance Corps, U.S. Army 12/15/1982 to 05/31/1984 Exceptional
Meritorious Service Patriot Project Office.
LTC Capps Served as A Team Member of The Black Hawk Project,
and MEDEVAC Program. Once Retired he became a Civilian Military Contractor; honored for his work.

States Of America.
