James “Heavy” Poteet, 36, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center . He was born June 30, 1977 to the late Billy Poteet and Leslie Morris McDonald in Tupelo. He worked for D & D Trucking as a truck driver. He was a member of the Green Hill Hunting Club and the N.R.A. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his pets, truck driving, sports, and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Poteet of Fulton, Mother, Leslie (Phillip) McDonald of Tupelo, Son, Ben Ables of Fairview, Son, Charlie (Dana) Ables of Fairview, 4 Brothers, Scotty Poteet of Tupelo, Jonathan Cox of Mooreville, Marty Cox of Belden, and RC Cox of Guntown, 2 Grandsons, James Wood of Fairview, and Trent Wood of Fairview, 2 Granddaughters, Bell Ables of Fairview, and Addie of Fairvew, 3 Step Brothers, Danny McDonald of Mooreville, David McDonald of AR, and Dennis McDonald of Tupelo, 1 Step sister, Blain Bush of Tupelo, Special Friends, Richie (Pam) Cox.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Poteet, Step Daughter, Kim Ables, Grandfather, Fred Poteet, Grandmother, Doris Poteet, Grandfather, Billy Morris, Grandmother, Joan Morris.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Cox, Marty Cox, RC Cox, Rabbit Hunter, Jay White.
