James Harris Woods, age 71, of Jacksonville, Florida, (formerly of Huntland, Tennessee) passed away unexpectantly Monday, August 2, 2021.
He was born July 11, 1950, in Franklin County, Tennessee, to Geneva Woods and the late P.D. Woods. He graduated from Huntland High School. Harris worked most of his life as a cement mason that led to his position as an instructor for the Job Corps Programs in Bristol, Tennessee, and Jacksonville, Florida. He spent his last years before retirement as a truck driver. His favorite pastimes were watching Nascar races, football games and enjoying good food.
In addition to his father, Harris is preceded in death by a brother, Paul Woods. Survivors include his mother, Geneva, of Huntland; his wife, Wanda Woods, and a daughter, Lindsay Woods, both of Jacksonville, Florida; a brother, Joe Woods (Connie), of Bend, Oregon; a sister-in-law, Joanne Woods, of Climax, Michigan; sister-in-law, Anja Smith, of Murfreesboro; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and longtime friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 2:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Moore Memorial Cemetery in Huntland. The family respectfully request that anyone planning to attend please wear a mask.
