James Harold Powers, 83, passed away on September 21st, 2026. He was born on August 9th, 1943, to J.C. Powers and Cathryn Eaves Powers.
Jimmy was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in everything he did. He was the proud owner of Jimmy’s Furniture and a proud co-owner of D&J Motors. A true jack of all trades, Jimmy could do just about anything he set his mind to and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand.
He loved his church and his church family, who held a special place in his heart. Jimmy was also an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed collecting collectibles. Above all, he treasured his family and the many memories they made together.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara Powers; son, Benjamin Powers (Li Zhou); daughter, Beth Crabtree; grandson, Seth Crabtree; and sister, Kay Powers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. Powers and Cathryn Eaves Powers.
A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery on Thursday, September 24th, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with Andy John King officiating.
Jimmy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
