Interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia, AL
The body will will be placed in the church one hour prior.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, 4-5:00pm followed by a Memorial from 5-6:00pm, Burrell Slater Auditorium, Florence, AL.
In lieu of flower please make donation to American Cancer Society or Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
Public viewing will be Sunday, 1-3:00pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Floyd leaves to cherish is memories: a loving wife of 56 years, Louisiana Stanley Floyd. Three children: Dr. Bridget Jean Floyd, Madison, AL; James Darryl Floyd, Huntsville, AL; Kathryn Elise Floyd, Nashville, TN. Two very dear and devoted cousinsthat he felt were like the sisters he never had: Irene Wise Hamer and Lorene Wise Bailey, both of Tuscumbia, AL. Other cousins include Loretta RandleGoodloe of Florence, Alabama, Robert Randle (Frances ),Oak Ridge, TN, Zethelyn Randle Johnson (Charlie Jr.), Florence, AL, Thomas H. Randle, Atlanta, GA, and Rickey Floyd, the dear nephew of Harold’s deceased aunt, Sadie M. Floyd Hicks. Two brothers in-law: Thornton (Mary) Stanley, Huntsville, AL; Ossie (Linda) Stanley, Jacksonville, FL. Four sisters in-law: Naomi (Levert) Crutch; Helen Cobb; Sarah Stamps, all in Leighton, AL; and Minerva (Francis) Jackson, Hudsonville, MI. A loving, extended family of in-laws from his marriage to the late Roslyn Long Floyd: William Mansel Long, Jr.; Jean Long (Arthur) Graves; Jon Pinkston Long, all of Tuscumbia. His life-long, friendsfrom childhood, Julian Lewis of Gahanna, OH; Millard Paul Coker, Philadelphia, PA & Sarah Nell Coker Cole, Columbus, OH. A host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends, colleagues, students, and others whose lives he touched.
