James "Harold" Carter James “Harold” Carter, age 84, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services and burial to follow in the Gilmer Addition of Sulligent City Cemetery.  Bro. Steven Sanderson to officiate.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.

 

Pallbearers: Brandon Carter, Brayden Carter, Ethan Carter, Cruise Carter, Cody Gardner, and Nathan Randolph      Honorary Pallbearer: Cohen Carter

 

Harold was born on November 29, 1941 in Sulligent, AL to the late I.V. “Buddy” Carter and the late Odell Fowler Carter.  He attended Detroit and Sulligent Schools.  Harold previously worked at McCoy Manufacturing and Reltoc.  He enjoyed listening to music and watching westerns.  He was also known to be an avid Alabama fan.  The most important thing to Harold was his family, which he adored.  He was a very present father and grandfather, always actively involved their school and sports events.  His humble and gentle spirit and loving heart will be greatly missed and always cherished.

Great Grandchildren: 8
