James Hall McKinney, 74, of Baldwyn, MS, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at his residence. James was born August 26, 1952, to Marvin and Bernice Hall McKinney. He was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Tupelo. James worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and Registered Cardiopulmonary Therapist at North Mississippi Medical Center for 33 years.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church located at 1305 Lawhon Drive, Tupelo, MS 38804 with Pastor David MacKain officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.
James is survived by his wife, Eleanor “Ellie” McKinney; his sons, Barry McKinney (April), Brandon McKinney (Pam), James Bradley McKinney (Robin), John Robbins (Carolyn), and Chad Robbins (Kevin); his daughters, Rhea McVay (Kevin) and Renee Robbins (Alberto); his brothers, Marlin McKinney (Barbara) and Larry McKinney (Marilyn); his grandchildren, Logan, Ian and Cadin McKinney, Brianna, Shayleigh and Brannon McKinney, Jacob Malkin, Jordan, Taylor and Tucker Robbins, Tristian Robbins, Isabella Robbins Rodriguez, Zoi McVay Hudgins, and Kyle McVay; and his great-granddaughter, Holiday Robbins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert McKinney; and his sister, Sandra Owens.
