James Grady Jordan – Obituary

James Grady Jordan, 88, died Monday, October 26, 2015, at Southern Magnolia Estates, Golden, Mississippi. He was born in Red Bay, Alabama, to Dr. Grady Jordan and Arva Lee Epps Jordan. He was employed by Southern Bell Telephone, Boeing Rocket Program and was retired from Mississippi State Highway Department. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Red Bay, Alabama, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He was lovingly called Papa Grady.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 28, at 11 a.m. at Red Bay City Cemetery with Brother Mitch Nethery officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are one niece, Lisa Burke (Gordon); and her children, Jennifer Burke Flowers (Rob) and Julie Burke; nephew, Alan Bolton; and his children, Jeff McMahan (Jennifer), Karlie Boling and Kaitlyn Boling; and grandson Connor; loving friend, Sue Nelson; and her four daughters Susanne Franklin (Mike), Dianna Stepp (Adell), Meleah Huguley (Jeff) and Julie McKinney; and her grandchildren, Tracie Skinner, Kacie Long, Laken Stepp, Sunni Champion, Sawyer Huguley, Darby Huguley, Bailey Thorn, Houston McKinney and Hayden McKinney; and her great-grandchildren, Kylee Skinner, Brantley Skinner, Braden Long, Bella Long and Brighton Long.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 126, Red Bay, AL 35582.
