Funeral for James Glenn “PeeWee” Amerson, 60, of East Lawrence, will be Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle with Brother Anthony Simmons officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in the Prayer Garden at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
James “PeeWee” Amerson left this walk of life to reunite with the love of his life at 2:19 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 6, 1955, in Morgan County to James Robert Amerson and Myrtle Louise Cottingham. He was a retired truck driver and a devoted lifetime member of Faith Tabernacle. He loved serving the Lord, watching Alabama football, watching and playing with his grandchildren. He was preceded in by his beloved wife, Joyce Amerson; one son, James Glenn Amerson Jr; his parents and grandparents, Levi and Dean Garrett.
Survivors include one son, Allen Amerson (Tonya) of Hatton; four daughters, Melissa McElroy (Jason), Angelia Amerson (Rocky), Daisy Pruett (Jeff) and Patricia Bryant (Tim), all of East Lawrence; one son-in-law, Chris Bryant of Mt. Hope; two brothers, Leon Amerson (Ann) and Ronald Amerson of Decatur; two sisters, Mary Amerson of Hartselle, Sherry Amerson of Decatur; four stepbrothers and two stepsisters; 12 grandchildren, Timothy Bryant, Christopher Bryant, Taylor Amerson, Glenn Bryant, David Pruett, Ally Amerson, Angeliah Bryant, Narsie Pruett, Casey Bryant, Sarah Bryant, Hunter McElroy and Faith McElroy; two stepgrandchildren, Lee McElroy and Steven McElroy; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Bryant, Taylor Amerson, Glenn Bryant, David Pruett, Brandon Simmons, Jerry Lynn Garrett, Russell Parker and Billy Terrell. Honorary pallbearers will be his other grandchildren.
