James Gilbert “Jim” Brinkman – Obituary

James Gilbert “Jim” Brinkman, 81, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at his home. Visitation will be from to 9 until 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at Lawrence Funeral Home. Jim’s memorial service will follow at 10 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.

Jim served in the U.S. Navy as a seabee, retired from Delta Airlines with 34 years of service, and then worked for the Lawrence County Transportation for the elderly.

He was a devoted dad to Pamela Stein (Bryan), Mark Brinkman (Judith), Vickie Brinkman, and Jaime Kirby (Shane); caring “PawPaw Jim” to his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and beloved “Uncle Jimmy”.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Brinkman; mother, Agnes Rose Archibold Webster; wife of 25 years, Carolyn Jill Brinkman; sister, Barbara Rodgers; and brother, Paul Edward Brinkman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alacare Hospice, St. Jude’s, or Boys Town.
