James Gary Maddox, 73 of Toney, Alabama died on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
Born Sunday, June 29, 1941 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James Odie Maddox and the late Annie Florence Whitt Maddox. He was an avid Tennessee football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. He lived most of his life in the Ardmore area, enjoyed working, and was a Veteran of the US Army.
Surviving are his wife: Judy Clem Maddox of Toney, AL, sons, Eric Maddox of Nashville, TN, Matthew Maddox of Hazel Green, AL and Timothy Clem of Ardmore, TN, daughters, Angela Purtle of Huntsville, AL and Jennifer Maddox, brothers, Johnny Maddox of Fayetteville, TN, Phillip Maddox of Fayetteville, TN and Larry Maddox of Fayetteville, TN, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Eric Lones officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 15, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
