James Garrel Hargett, age 74, of Littleville, AL passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014. His family will receive friends for visitation at Colbert Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 2, 2014 from 10-11am. Deacon William Clawson will conduct the service beginning at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
James was of the Church of God faith. He retired from the University of North Alabama after over 30 years of loyal service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Hazel L. Hargett.
James is survived by his wife of 49 wonderful years, Diane Hargett; son, Christopher Hargett (Jennifer) of Crestview, Florida; daughter, Andrea Kimbrell of Sheffield; grandson, Jesse “Stoney” Kimbrell; brothers, Charles Hargett (Blanche) of Littleville, Michael Hargett (Pam) of Arkansas; sister, Patsy Carmack of Tuscumbia; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
His family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
