James F. Posey, 80 of Ardmore, Alabama passed away on Tuesday October 10, 2023, at Madison Hospital Madison, Alabama.
Born on Friday February 19, 1943, in Elkmont, Alabama. He was the son of the late Ulivor Posey and the late Lizzie Posey.
James was a lifelong resident of the Ardmore area. He served in the US Army from 1964-1971 where he served in the Vietnam War and was stationed in Seoul Korea. While serving our country he received the National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Metal, Campaign Metal, Air Metal, and Good Conduct Metal. He was a helicopter operations specialist when honorably discharged in 1971.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeremy Posey, sisters Hester McNeese, Hazel Gilbert, Juanita McCown, Carrie Mitchell, Voncille Wales, Carolyn Mitchell, Daisy Swint, Dovie Bland, brothers Marvin, L.D., Calvin, Charles, and Malcolm ”Junior” Posey.
Surviving is a daughter Nikki (Maurice) McDonald of Madison, Alabama. One granddaughter, Brooklyn McDonald of Madison, Alabama.
Graveside services will be at 1pm on October 15, 2023, at Gatlin Cemetery Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Tony Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery Ardmore, AL.
