Mr. James Edward “Jimmy” Jackson, 73, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 19, 1950, to Edward E. Jackson and Erma Hammond Jackson. He was a 1969 graduate of Wingfield High School where he was voted Most Friendly and played football. He continued his studies, earning an Associates’ Degree at Hinds Community College. Jimmy’s career was in insurance sales as owner of Jackson and Associates. He and his wife, Debbie moved from Jackson, Mississippi to Tupelo in 1982. Jimmy and Debbie were members at Hope Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a member of the Life Underwriters Association and a 40+-year member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed going to the beach, mountains, and deep sea diving. Adored by his children and grandchildren, they felt he was the best father and grandfather there ever was.

A celebration of life service will be at 2 PM, Friday, April 19, 2024 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with Bro. Scooter Noland officiating. Burial is private to the family. Visitation will be from 12 noon to service time only on Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Debbie Jackson of Tupelo; son, Chris Root (Kim) of Tupelo; daughters, Brandy Lancaster of Tupelo and Stacy Jackson of Pearl; grandchildren Alexandra Jackson, Keller Lancaster, Dylan Peschke, Ainsley Roberts, Jackson Root, Stella Root, and Charleston Root. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Erma Jackson, and son, Jason Paul Root.
