James Edward Cochran, age 77, of Glencoe, Alabama, passed away March 20, 2022, after an extended illness. He was raised in Walnut Grove and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1963. He was an avid golfer and had a host of friends with whom he loved playing golf. James is survived by his son, Kenny Marbut and his daughter, Staci (John) Kramer, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well as his brother, Fred Cochran, Jr., his sisters Glenda (Billy Ray) Robershaw, Julia (Harvey) Waits, Sharon (Joe) Burden, Kathy Cochran, Martha (Benny) Foxx, brother-in-law, Leon Cornelius, and sister-in-law, Jimmie Cochran, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Louise Cochran, his sister, Annette Cornelius, and his brother, Rodney Cochran. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 23, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Collier Butler Funeral Home with private burial to follow. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services.
