James Earl Steen – Obituary

James Earl Steen, 66, of Rogersville died Monday, December 2, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Nashville, TN after an extended illness.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Elkins East Chapel from 10 AM to 12 PM.  Funeral services will follow at 12 PM in the Chapel with Dr. Marty Mosley officiating.  Burial will be at Butler Cemetery.

Mr. Steen worked at Reynolds Metals and then TVA until he retired.  He was a member of Springfield First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.  He taught Sundayschool for several years.  He served in the US Army Reserve in the Military Police.

Mr. Steen is survived by his loving wife Patsy Steen; special pet EllaBeth; daughter Tina Johnson (Richard); mother Lennie Bea Steen; two grandchildren Trey Johnson and Jenna Johnson; special friend Martha Handley.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Collier, Bobby Trousdale, Wade Auten, James Waddell, Jimmy Taylor, and Russell Steen.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Kidney Foundation or Pets Are Worth Saving (PAWS)
