James Doyle Webb – Obituary

 James Doyle Webb, 80, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a short illness. He was born April 14, 1933, in Itawamba County to J. M. and Cora Bell Miles Webb. He was raised and lived in Itawamba county until moving to Pearl in 1964. He lived there before moving to Pontotoc in 1999. He moved to Lebanon, TN, about four and a half years ago. He was a civil engineer for the Mississippi Department of Transportation, where he retired from. He then worked for Ware, Lind, and Furlow engineering firm as a senior engineer. He was a Baptist and was very active in his church families, where he served as a deacon and enjoyed singing in the choir. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Mississippi State fan.

Services will be at 1:00 p. m. Monday at the McNeece – Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Grover Laird officiating. Burial will be in the Keyes Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, James David Webb (Debbie) of Richland, MS, and Michael Shannon Webb (Stephanie) of Lebanon, TN; two brothers, Jimmy Webb (Era) of Tremont, and Dean Webb (Kay) of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, Terra Webb of Memphis, TN, Leslie Gann (Chris) of Mantachie, Justin Shepherd of Jackson, MS, and Andrew Webb and Baylee Webb, both of Lebanon, TN; two great grandchildren, Amberlynn Gann and Kimber Gann.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Faye Nell Webb, who died Dec. 3, 2011; one daughter, Debra Lynn Shepherd; and his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Sunday at McNeece – Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
