James Donald Fowler, born May 8, 1969, passed away April 23, 2019 at 10:50 PM at Crestwood Hospital. He was surrounded by family and friends. Don was a 1987 graduate of Paint Rock Valley High School. He resided in Paint Rock Valley where he spent many wonderful years with close friends doing the things he loved… hunting, fishing, and just having fun. Don loved to laugh and was able to light up a room with his sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Brandy Fowler. Together, Don and Brandy had four amazing children, of whom he was so proud. Although he only had four biological children, for more than thirty years Don treated every child who walked through the door as his own, including Kris Henderson, Blaine Brewer and Dylan Sisk. Everyone who knew Don knows he had a passion for sports, including Alabama football. Don combined his passion for guiding children and his love of sports through various coaching positions from 1994-2014. He created strong relationships with his players that survived until his death.
Don served as an employee with the City of Huntsville for 18 years and was a crew leader for most of that time. He saw his fellow employees as a second family. He loved the guys he worked with and loved even more to pull pranks on them. Don was kind hearted. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and was always there when needed. This is evidenced by his involvement in many community and school projects throughout the years. Family was so important to Don and he always thought the world of his Momma and Daddy, Lois and Patsy Fowler. He took great care of his mother and loved her so very much.
James Donald Fowler was preceded in death by his father, Lois Fowler. He is survived by his wife, Brandy Fowler of Estillfork, his mother Patsy Fowler of Estillfork, sons, Zachery (Lara) Fowler, Jonathan (Emily) Fowler and Tyler Fowler, all of Estillfork, one daughter Chelsea (Morgan) Stephens of Skyline, and his precious grandbabies, Courtney, Eliah, Arizona, and Sloane. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by many.
