James David Lindley, 85, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Marion County, Alabama, to William Claudie Lindley and Mary Collier Lindley. He was a truck driver for more than twenty years and was also a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay, Alabama, with Bro. Matthew Haney and Bro. David Holcomb officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay, Alabama, is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Joy Haney Lindley; two sons, Tim (Barbara) Lindley and Alan Lindley; three grandchildren, Greg Lindley, Chris Lindley (Jennifer), and Alex Lindley Reynolds (Cody); three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Hayden, and Charley Lindley; his sister-in-law, Nina Lindley; and his brother-in-law, Wade Triplett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Junior Lindley; and two sisters, Geraldean Pilkington and Shirley Triplett.

Pallbearers will be Greg, Chris, Caleb, Hayden, Ron, and Michael Lindley.
