James Daniel (Dan) Bailey Sr. went to be with the Lord on May 1, after an extended illness.
Visitation will be Friday May 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday May 4, in the chapel, with burial to follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Brother Mark Mayfield is officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Elma Rae Bailey; four brothers, Milverd, Ethridge, Taskle and Thurman Bailey; and a sister, Faye McDougle.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Bailey;
son, James D. (Danny) Bailey Jr. (Cheryl);
daughters, Melissa Davenport (Tony) and Teresa Stutts (Bubba);
two stepsons, Joey Hernandez and Bubba Hernandez (Peggy);
brothers, Kenneth Bailey (Pat) and Jimmy Bailey (Lyla);
sisters, Louise Aycock and Barbara King (Wayne);
five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and a host of loving nieces; nephews; and friends.
Pallbearers will include grandsons, Ryan Bailey, Brian Davenport, Matthew Davenport, Dylan Stutts, nephews, David Bailey and Darell Bailey. Honorary pallbearer will be granddaughter, Casey Bailey.

Dan was retired from TVA where he was known as “5 Man Dan” and was a member of Machinist Local No. 65.
