Obituary of David Coleman LottBorn February 3, 1944 to James Coleman Lott and Ethyl Christine Hart Lott. David was a true family man, craftsman and an engineer without a degree. Over his lifetime he held many jobs and positions but his true calling was to his family. Never being one to put his self first, he was always there to take care of those that needed it around him. After he graduated from Decatur high school in 1962, he joined the Air Force. After his service was completed he worked several jobs mostly in the Decatur area while he attended Calhoun community college. He also owned and operated 2 different cabinet shops. He also was a baseball coach, umpire and also was Scout master for his son’s boys scout troop at Sixth Avenue Church of God. He enjoyed family reunions more than anything, sharing stories and catching up was his favorite thing to do, and don’t forget the chocolate covered cherries. Ask him about his grandchildren and you’ll never get in another word, they meant the world to him, each and everyone. And can’t forget his trips to Tunica with his wife, and daughter he was surely a lucky man. One of his latest joys was reconnecting with his church family at Community South Church of God.
