James Christopher Lollar (Chris), age 54, of Sheffield, Alabama, died peacefully in his sleep after a fierce 5 year battle with cancer on Saturday, April 21, 2018.
Chris was born October 17, 1963 in Moultrie, Georgia. He was the son of the late Junior Lollar and the late Elizabeth Cobb Lollar. He was the second of 5 siblings.
He was employed by Constellium (Wise Alloys) in Muscle Shoals, Alabama for the past 8 years as a maintenance technician. He previously worked at Cooper Tire in Albany, Georgia for 15 years. He loved the outdoors. He loved horseback riding and fishing. He loved fishing at Wilson Dam on the Tennessee River, but he best loved pond fishing in South Georgia. His greatest joy, however, was his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Suzanne Hall Lollar; daughters, Rachel Lollar, Kayla Lollar Giddens (Justin), and Jane Lollar Guenther (Ty); son, Dylan Lollar (Brittany); and grandchildren, Carson and Ally Dampier, and unborn babies, Baby Lollar and Baby Guenther. Sisters, Vickie Fender (Ricky), Glenda Kimble, Missy Vaughn (Joe); brother, David Lollar; brothers-in-law, Richard Hall and Roger Hall; and a multitude of beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and co-workers.
Visitation will be Friday, April 27, 2018 at the South Highland Freewill Baptist Church, 704 State Avenue Muscle Shoals, AL 35661 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to your local hospice would be appreciated.
