James “Chicken” Gary Mitchell, 80, of Blanche, Tennessee passed away with his family at his side on August 17, 2025, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center in Ardmore, Tennessee.
Mr. Mitchell lived in Blanche, Tennessee, for the majority of his life. He was of the Christian faith. He was an auctioneer and trader for most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and LL ”Chicken” Mitchell; one brother, Kenneth Mitchell, and two daughters, Karen Black and Karla Haynes.
He is survived by his sister, JoAnn (Billy) Shannon, two sons, Darren Curry and Pascanal Mitchell; as well as seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow visitation with service time beginning at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Blanche Cemetery. Bro. Billy Shannon will officiate the service.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
