James Carter May, 68, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday at a hospital in Birmingham. Jim retired as a captain in the Alabama Army National Guard after 23 years of service. He especially enjoyed his brief time as a member of the Green Berets. He worked at both the unemployment and employment offices for many years. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge 1648 for 38 years.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Lee Kinzer May; daughter, Frances May Morris (Patrick); son, Carter May; brothers, Mike May and Tom May, of Huntsville and Ken May of Montgomery; grandson, Jacob Bartlett; and step-grandsons, Hudson and Harrison Morris.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating. (www.laughlinservice.com)
