Graveside services for Mr. James Carroll Koffman, age 91, will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Center Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Joey Gowan officiating.
Mr. Koffman passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Commons at Orlando Lutheran Towers.
Mr. Koffman was born April 2, 1932, in Trenton, TN, the son of the late Robert H. Koffman and Metie Kate Koffman. James graduated from Memphis State University in Memphis, TN, and severed in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received his Master’s Degree and was a retired teacher from the Oak Ridge High School, Orlando, FL. In 2020 he was inducted into the Oak Ridge High School Hall of Fame for his work with the ORHS athletic programs.
Mr. Koffman was an avid woodworker, biker, fisherman, and boater on Lake Conway. He was a magnet in his neighborhood for his friendliness and conversation.
Mr. Koffman, in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his wife, Earldene J. Koffman; and his brothers, Robert M. Koffman and Thomas L. Koffman.
Mr. Koffman is survived by his stepchildren, Shelia Pappas and Paula Schubert; step grandchildren, Scott Pappas (Amy) and Lisa Canini (Jacob); his brother, Milton Koffman (Carol Ann); his sister, Gayle Hensley of Muskogee, OK; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Belle Isle, FL at a later date.
