James Blake Herring, age 80, of Owens Cross Roads, AL passed away Friday, September 22, 2017. Mr. Herring was born in Abbeville, AL to Henry Hamilton and Mary Lou Parker Herring. Mr. Herring was a member of Good Shephard Catholic Church. He served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents Hamp Herring and Mary Lou Herring and his brother Johnny Herring. Mr. Herring is survived by his wife of 57 years Clarissa Herring of Hampton Cove, AL; son Chris Herring (Susan) of Hampton Cove, AL; sisters Martha Espy (Bob ) of Abbeville, AL and Judy Saunders (Jerry) of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren Blake Herring, Andrea Herring and Justin Herring and several nieces and nephews. The family will have a memorial service in Abbeville, Al. The date, time and location will be announced. A private memorial service will then be held here. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice.
