James “Big Daddy” Hurtekant – Obituary

Funeral service for James “Big Daddy” Hurtekant, 80, will be Friday, November 30, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey Coots officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Indiana.  Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Hurtekant died on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  He was born July 10, 1938, in Indiana to Alfons Hurtekant and Edna Katterheinrich Hurtekant.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and the Plant Manager for the GTI  Plant prior to his retirement. Mr. Hurtekant, affectionately known as “Big Daddy” to his family,  enjoyed riding motorcycles, collecting knives and guns.  He was a member of Journey Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother: Mike Hurtekant and a sister: Frances Wilson.
