James Bernard Brown, age 79, passed away March 16, 2015. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 19, at 2 p.m., at Colbert Memorial Chapel, with Ted Vafeas officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. with services to follow in the chapel.
Mr. Brown was a member of Ford City Baptist Church. He had been a Shoals area pastor for many years and had also worked at TVA.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Frances Bliss Brown, and his parents, Isaac Newton Brown and Mattie Davis Brown.
He is survived by his sons, James Russell Brown and David Cameron Brown; grandsons, Russell Heath Brown, Connor David Brown, and Blake Cameron Brown; and great-grandson, Trevor Heath Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Austin, Terrell Copeland, Henry Eddy, and Robert McGee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at 105 West Park Drive, Suite No. 415, Brentwood, TN 37027.
