James Audie Clemmons passed away peacefully at his home, Saturday May 7, 2016 on his seventy-ninth birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ber Nettie Clemmons, wife Angela Marie Clemmons, daughter Sandra Lynn and son James Audie Jr.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday May 10, 2016 at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday May 11, 2016 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in North Carolina Church of Christ Cemetery. Ben Hayes will officiate.
He is survived by his daughters Teresa Stone, Susan Allen (Dale), and Stacie Kent (Tim), grandchildren Corey Clemmons, Kevin Stone, Brandy Scruggs, Blythe Willis, Blake Allen, Ben Allen, Carlee Copeland, Stevie Copeland, Chase Kent and Timmy Kent. Great – grandchildren, Camryn Brown, Olivia, Natalie, and Darby Kate Scruggs, Ashton and Dayson Clemmons, and Irie Jane Blades.
James was a native of Lauderdale County but lived in Sheffield for fifty years. He was a Sheffield Firefighter for 32 years and retired as a Captain. He was also a self employed electrician and was fortunate to work for many people in the Quad Cities area of whom many became lifelong friends. He touched many lives during his life and career and he leaves a multitude of friends. James was also a Christian and faithful member of Highland Park Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be Mike Kantor, Jeff Willis, Jeff Wix, Phillip Williams, Ulus Farris and Larry Pilkington.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and members of the Sheffield Fire Department.
