Reverend James Arthur Creasy, born March 17, 1947, in Florence, AL, passed away on June 12, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.

Jim, the eldest son of James and Nancy Creasy, graduated from Coffee High School and earned a BA from Florence State University (now UNA). As a conscientious objector, he served as a medic and dental hygienist in the U.S. Army at Fort Dix, NJ, where he met and married Charleen Forman.

After his military service, Jim attended Philadelphia Divinity School, which later merged to become the Episcopal Divinity School. Over the next 35 years, he served communities in Alabama, Guam, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia.

Reverend Creasy was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his former wife, Charleen Forman Creasy; daughter, Jennifer Creasy Peuler (Christopher Peuler); grandchildren, Briar and Avery Smith; and siblings, Denise Graham (Marcellus), Donica Creasy, and Daniel Creasy (Karen).

The family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by Floyd E “Tut” Fann Veterans Home. A private funeral service was held along the banks of the Tennessee River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Father Creasy will be greatly missed.
